First and foremost, it is my great pleasure to welcome John Nousek as the new Chair of the PCOS Program Analysis Group (PhysPAG) Executive Committee. The Program Office (PO) is looking forward to continuing to work closely with the PhysPAG in advancing PCOS science and relevant technologies (see John’s PhysPAG Report) The PCOS science objectives are best achieved when critical activities such as theoretical research, technology maturation and space mission development are well coordinated. Some of these activities occur outside of the PCOS Program per se, and it is critical that the Program stays abreast of progress made in these activities. The theme for this issue of the newsletter is “PCOS Science and Technology that is NOT in the PCOS Program”. We hope this will better inform the community that much of what we do is broader than the program August 2013 Vol. 3 No. 1
